Full-Day - Musquash Head by Kicks & Kayak

This rugged coastline is just 15 minutes outside Saint John, and our guides will take you paddling through the NCC-protected Musquash Estuary. This unique salt and freshwater wetland is home to incredible plant and wildlife diversity.

As you move towards the mouth of the estuary, you’ll hike to a unique beach of black sand and continue up the rugged coastline to the Musquash Head Lighthouse—a beautiful way to explore the estuary from the water and the land.

We’ll start with a 2 – 2.5 hour paddle following the tide through the estuary, picnic lunch on a secluded beach, and then enjoy a 2.5 - 3 hr coastal hike through Acadian Forest towards the mouth of the estuary.

In Step Adventures acknowledges that we carry out our work, play and creation stewardship on the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq and Peskotomuhkati peoples. This territory was covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” and signed by these first nations in 1726. The Treaties recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.

Therefore, we pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land, honouring their knowledge and endeavouring to learn from their wisdom regarding its ongoing stewardship and protection for future generations.
