Food Service

ISA-90.jpg

Did you know our food service is all organic and locally sourced? Or that we have gluten-free options?

We partner with local businesses to give you an authentic taste of what Saint John and the Towns by the Bay have to offer, and we serve it up with class!

Our lunches are all homemade in-house by our Food Safety and Handling Certified support staff and Marguerite herself, the trimmings from Local organic farms through Life Is Dirt and the local bakery and market Cochrans Country Market.

Our Days End Fare, along with all the trimmings, is an incredible collection of select meats and cheeses from H & S Meats in the uptown Saint John City market, and you’ll get a taste of local craft beer from Picaroons General Store, Yip Cider, or Mott’s Landing winery.

Your Adventure, Your Way

ISA-99.jpg

Have you ever signed up for a cookie-cutter adventure with a bunch of other people who all had different expectations and abilities?

The go-getters who are fast and want to put in the km’s and see all the things, and the chill holidayers who want to smell the roses, take it all in and bask in the moment. At the end of the adventure, the go-getters are frustrated with constantly waiting for the Chill-ers and the Chill-ers are frustrated by having to sacrifice their moment to keep up with the go-getters. Been there? We have!

In Step Adventures is about private adventures, with your group only, so we can go as fast or as slow, and even adapt the plan along the way according to how you’re feeling and how you would like to enjoy that moment in that place.

Yep – YOUR ADVENTURE, YOUR WAY.

We Take Lots of Pictures

ISA-97.jpg

We want you to ‘be in the moment’ and engage with your surroundings, so we make a point to take lots of pictures along your adventure to share with you so you can cherish the memory of your special day for years to come.

Eco-Conscious

ISA-118.jpg

Our Partnership with the Nature Trust NB and our work with Nature Conservancy Canada has fueled our approach to running our business and living our lives.

We do not use single-use wrappers or plastics in any of our food service or snacks. We follow all Leave No Trace policies and procedures. And, we always try to leave the area we are in better than when we found it.

So, if you see our guides ‘picking up’ along the way, we use every opportunity to make a difference and keep our coastal areas pristine.

(See OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES)

Inclement Weather

ISA-119.jpg

Like all adventure companies, kayaking adventures will be cancelled if inclement weather and the sea is unsafe.

We understand that you are only in the region for a short time and your holiday is important! No one wants their adventures journal to say, “We were supposed to, but…”! So, we’ll offer you a hiking alternative in the same area if cancelling is necessary.

In Step Adventures makes every effort to make your day count, and we’ll be quick to have options in the wings that are fun, safe ,and get you out there, making the most of your day. With us, your adventure journal will always say, “WE DID!”

If you are local and want to try again, we’ll work with you to plan an alternate weather date.

In Step Adventures acknowledges that we carry out our work, play and creation stewardship on the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq and Peskotomuhkati peoples. This territory was covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” and signed by these first nations in 1726. The Treaties recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.

Therefore, we pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land, honouring their knowledge and endeavouring to learn from their wisdom regarding its ongoing stewardship and protection for future generations.
