'An Adventure in Conservation' 

  • A Day of Discovery, observe the incredible tidal changes and its effects on the Nature Conservancy of Canada's largest nature reserve in the Maritimes.

  • Kayak through the heart of the estuary and feel its pulse up close and personal. Witness wildlife, shipwrecks, and learn how the bay and the marshes work together to create an incredible ecosystem in need of protection.

  • Hike through the wetlands and coastal Acadian forest that surrounds it. Experience the estuary's incredible biodiversity and how this environment supports unique plants, animals, and marine life.

  • For 4 people, moderate - strenuous activity, Includes: ISA's Signature Picnic Lunch, snacks, hiking poles, tandem kayaks and all related gear, instructional time, and apres hike wine/craft beer/ Days End Fare.

'Gateway to the Estuary'

  • This full-day hike brings you along the breathtaking coast that leads to the wide mouth of the estuary. 

  • Enjoy incredible views of the bay highlighting the rocky coast. Climb down to a hidden pebbled beach, comb for treasures brought in by the tides, and enjoy a picnic on warm, black graphite sand. Listen to the gentle call of the bay bell and learn the history of the lighthouse and the area.

  • Max 6 people, moderate - strenuous activity. Includes ISA's Signature Picnic Lunch and snack, hiking poles, and apres hike wine/craft beer/Days End Fare on the beach.

'A Taste of the Bay'

  • Enjoy a beautiful coastal hike along the picturesque shore of the bay that skirts this friendly fishing village - proud home of the most prominent branded seafood companies in North America, including Connors Bros, Clover Leaf, and Cooke Aquaculture.
  • Take in the local heritage museum, hike the coast, picnic by the historic lighthouse and local fare right from the bay.
  • Welcome to our backyard and experience our life, our way, our food, and our culture. The village of Blacks Harbour invites you to stay and play!
  • Max 6 people, easy to moderate activity. Includes museum, ISA's Signature Picnic Lunch & snacks, hiking poles, and apres hike wine/craft beer/'days end' fare.
